Friday…I drove down to one of the other schools that we can visit to do bjj, only to find out they were testing this week, and regular classes were cancelled. BOOO!!!!!! 😦
Saturday…went to the NY Ren faire….yaaaaay! Me and my freinds val and brian are dorks–we get all dressed up 🙂 yay lots of fun…especially since I was able to completely close my corset 🙂 Maybe next year I’ll have to buy a new one cause the old one is too big, that would be swell 🙂 Then we hung out and watched Resident Evil and ate chinese food..lol
Sunday–Tourney! 🙂 I got there around 8:30 to weigh in…left to go get some coffee so I could think. There were actually 3 people from my school there so exciting! 🙂 Me, Paul, and one of our teens, David. Poor David accidently left his gi pants at home, so I let him weigh in with mine while his father barrelled down the Parkway to bring him his.
The most frustrating thing, since this is a local tourney–is wondering “how many women will show up?” Yea lucky me…only other woman is a blue belt…*sigh*…she’s from one of the other schools that is assoiciated with our instructor, so I’ve actually rolled with her before…and I knew I was in trouble! I think I blogged it a few blog entries back. Anywho, she’s strong and has long legs…and I’m averege stumpy all over the place. I ended up submitting by armbar. I’ve come to the conclusion that I do something wrong cause I get armbarred A LOT. Now I just have to figure out WHAT it is that I’m doing wrong. My brother came and has a video, so when I get it I will post it, any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🙂
I should also mention how CRAZY NERVOUS I was simply because I knew people were coming to see me. My first tourney nobody came cause I decided to do it like 48 hours before the tourney….I was MUCH more nervous this time cause my MOM, brother, best friend Mandi, her husband Brandt, and their *super amazing adorable newborn” Maddy came to see me. AAAAHHHHH…and of course, nobody listens to me, I tell them to get there by 12, they all walk in at like 12:45, and I’m like, you’re soo lucky that this organization is run by Brazilians and doesn’t start on time!!! Couldn’t you get there early so I’m not sitting here nervous that you aren’t going to make it? aaaaahhhh…Everyone walked in and then I was like grabbed and like, okay, you’re competing now…I like literally only had time to wave to my family. Sheesh.
Anywho, when I get pictures and video I will post them. Off to another (slightly less) hectic week…
